The fish came out and "sniffed" the shiner and swam away. 4 in game hours and only 1 sighting while using Shiners. As soon as I switched to these baits, sightings became non-existant. I tried Shiners, Large Cutbait, Large Minnows, and Crawfish. I also tried different regular "Gar Yummies". If anything, I saw a few less fish which might be attributed to the smaller vamps not being interested in the larger hook? Tonight I may try a #9/0 being in between to see what effect that has. There were no differences in sightings or "noses/sniffing". I tried #10/0 hook, regular baits, and found a new Vampire spot with confirmed catches and sightings(I'll post a pic).įrom my experiences last night, after switching to a #10/0 as opposed to #8/0 I saw no difference in bite ratios after changing.

So after some extensive testing last night I've come to a few conclusions. Had to buy bait coins tho as no real joy with other baits. Size 0/7 and 0/8 hooks helped o) I guess I was in the right place at the right time. If I do find one, I'm likely to find they're using #8/0 hooks meaning the fish are more likely to take their bait than mine. Unfortunately the two guys I fish with aren't interested in the event, which means I have to waste time hopping between rooms to try and find one where people are fishing the hot area. The more people fishing the swim the more seem to spawn as others have said. The final room I spawned in had two chaps fishing the same swim.

I did have the game bug out on me a couple of times, which prevented me building a swim properly. I tried Triple X's method the second to last night and managed one fish. Considering a 3 day trip to the Everglades is around 14K, I'll definitely be out of pocket unless I fish the days as well. How'd you manage that? Most I managed was about 90kg.
